About STXCABA

The South Texas Compensation and Benefits Association (STXCABA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with WorldatWork's group partnership network. We have members comprised of professionals employed by businesses throughout San Antonio and the surrounding areas.

This professional organization is dedicated to: the exchange of ideas regarding compensation and benefits trends and best practices; promoting the compensation and benefits field by developing partnerships with other Human Resource associations; and providing educational and professional development opportunities for compensation and benefits practitioners throughout the San Antonio and surrounding areas.

STXCABA holds regular meetings to provide a forum for members and guests to attend informative presentations from leading-edge HR professionals, exchange ideas and information, and share innovative programs.

    This presentation will explore current trends and best practices in employee reward and recognition programs, with a focus on how leading organizations are designing and evolving their strategies. Topics will include reward and recognition program design options, key considerations for creating an effective and meaningful program, industry benchmarks for program costs, approaches to measuring return on investment, and important considerations when evaluating and selecting a third-party reward and recognition vendor.

    Professional Biography:

    Robert Finder  is a Principal Consultant within Marsh’s Workforce & Rewards practice, based in Houston, Texas. He partners with organizations to design and optimize talent and reward programs that support business strategy, employee engagement, and retention.

    Robert’s expertise spans compensation strategy and market analysis, salary structures, incentive plan design, job architecture, employee reward and recognition, and M&A harmonization. He has advised clients across a broad range of industries, including energy, technology, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and professional services.

    In addition to his client work, Robert has held leadership roles within Marsh and the broader business community, including serving as the Houston office MarshCares lead and on the Board of Directors for the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business.

    Robert holds bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Houston.


    Cynthia Hazard is a transformation and change management leader who partners with senior executives to drive organizational change, workforce engagement, and adoption of new ways of working. Her experience includes leading change strategies for a major airline during a large-scale workforce reduction, guiding an HR transformation for a large energy company, and driving enterprise-wide technology adoption for a major children’s hospital.

    Across these engagements, Cynthia has helped organizations redesign structures and operating models, align leaders and employees through significant change, and implement strategies that balance business objectives with employee impact and operational continuity. She brings extensive consulting and in-house experience across the healthcare, aviation, energy, and pharmaceutical industries, with expertise in organizational transformation, communications, and workforce engagement.

    Cynthia holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern California and a Master’s Degree in Communications and Organizational Development from New York University. She is also certified by Stanford University, Prosci, and the Human Capital Institute.
