Documented support for pay equity dates back to the late 1860s. Yet pay inequity continues to exist in spite of numerous Federal and State laws, economic and social pressure, academic articles, regular organization equity studies, and continuing discussions by interested groups due to the use of unstructured pay practices and an overconfidence in the accuracy of managerial decisions. The presentation identifies a model to improve the managerial decision-making and reduce inequities. The presentation concludes with comments and results from practitioners using the model.
